Hi, I was born with club foot and had corrective surgery when I was relatively young. The only time I've had any problems has been when I've walked very long distances and my ankle becomes very sore and stiff. Lately, however, my leg below the knee has been hurting, and when I touch my ankle my whole foot tingles. Today when I was walking back to my car I had a sudden pain/tingling sensation in my foot that stopped me in my tracks. I stopped for a few seconds and then started to walk again. It really hurt to walk, forcing me to limp, and it felt like the muscles in my foot were very tight.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

Come on now . . . You surely cannot actually expect that even a qualified professional, much less a lay contributor, could come up with meaningful ideas on which you might rely regarding what is going on based on your post and without a physical examination. Rather than voicing reflexive defensive indignation, I would ask that you instead consider the reality that forums such as this are intended to offer general information only, and certainly can neither replace the diagnostic skills to be expected of an actual attending doctor nor address individual case-specific issues which require intimate knowledge of the individual and his/her condition(s). After you see a doctor, as you should, if then you wish some attempted clarification regarding the diagnosis or the treatment plan which has not not been adequately satisfied by that doctor, I will be pleased to engage with you in such a discussion.

    I can't afford a doctor.

How can I safely cut my leg off?

Now you're talking nonsense on BOTH counts. If you TRULY cannot afford a doctor, as opposed to your simply choosing other priorities for your limited funds, such as, but not limited to an Internet connection . . . and I'm sure many other non-essentials over your health, comfort and physical well-being, then there is either governmental or institutional free or reduced-fee care available, or many times doctors who will at least give you a diagnosis for free. But even if you could achieve the virtually impossible and obtain an accurate diagnosis on the Internet . . then what? Do you also think that along with that free diagnosis you could be given some free home remedy?

If you are actually the originally poster in this thread, and if you are even slightly serious, then you need to be talking with a mental health professional, not a podiatrist. And not one on the Internet either.

Foot Doc, you realize how mean you sound?

My podiatrist told me that my calf pain is from my foot and walking wrong, as did a spine specialist and 2 pain management doctors. This was after an MRI on my back and knee were done.
As for not being able to afford a doctor, can you get Medicare? Some states have low income insurance plans. You need to look on a the insurance websites for whatever state you live in and they should have options for low income insurance plans.
