I play 5 a side football on a Thursday and for the last month or so have been experiencing a problem with my big toe during and after the game. I have no foot pain, or indeed real pain in my big toe, unless I press a specific area on the right hand side of my upper foot. I then experience a sharp, almost electrical impulse down my big toe. I also get this when I strike the ball in a certain way. My big toe is generally quite numb now though.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Playing football or any other sports can possibly cause some toe pain after the fact. It is easy to jam your toes and bruise them which can cause you some discomfort later and this can cause a sharp pain in toe.
