I have had gout for a few years off and on in my big toe and now I have hard bumps on the outside of my ear. My GP told me that they are connected to my toe problem. Is that so and how can that be?

Your GP is probably correct. Although there can certainly be other reasons for bumps on the external ear, with your history, he/she is probably referring to tophi, which are deposits of crystallized monosodium urate which in persons with long-standing gout are seen in the joints and also in cartilage such as that of the external ear. Unless they are painful or causing ulcerations, they can generally be ignored.

I just learned that the pain I was feeling on my toes is caused by gout. I was advised to drink plenty of cherry juice since it’s known to help gout patients. Can you please recommend or share other gout medications to help for the pain?

If you you have gout, you need to see a medical doctor not a podiatrist. A podiatrist might be useful in the diagnosis if you haven't yet had one, but the condition is one of a metabolic nature which, though it may sometimes be manifested as pain in foot, is not simply a foot problem.
