one person cut his finger. the other cut his foot. please detail in depth why one has a greater chance of infection than the other. something to do with the foot being further from the heart so it is harder for the body to get stuff to it to heal the foot? Need detail.

I would disagree with your thesis that a cut on a foot necessarily has a greater chance of infection than a cut on a finger. What CAN be said is that, all other factors being equal, a cut on a finger will HEAL faster than a cut on a foot, simply because the hand has a better blood supply than the foot and healing elements in the blood are more easily accessible. Lesser blood supply, though, is not the prime factor which determines the propensity for infection, although, once an area becomes infected, with better blood supply there is a better chance of a quicker resolution, given that both infections were by the same sort of bacteria or infectious agent, as not only is there brought a greater amount of blood elements, which include the various types of cells which engulf, wall off and fight pathogenic invasions, but a higher tissue level of antibiotics if they become necessary will be effectuated . Certainly, the promptness of treatment, the quality of aseptic care, the type of bacteria and the degree of tissue insult are also important factors, no matter the location.
