"Lump" in arch of foot

    In the past week I have noticed what feels upon palpation like a small lump in the arch of my foot. So far it has not caused much discomfort but I am aware that it is there. Could this actually have been caused by a new pair of shoes that has a more pronounced arch support?

    Lumps MUST be checked out by hands-on examination, but for the sake of information which may or may not bear on your situation, search the word "dupuytren" on this site and see if the descriptions fit . .
