    Hi,

I have a lot of scar tissue in my ankle due to surgery, which makes it painful to walk. What is the most effective method to reduce scar tissue/adhesions? Is cortisone helpful? Massage? Keeping it moving? Or is just giving it time going to reduce it? A combination of these things? Surgery? Anything else I haven't mentioned? I just want to do everything I possibly can to help it (hopefully avoiding more surgery).

I know opinions of this probably vary from doctor to doctor. And also on a case by case basis, since everyone and every situation is different. But in your opinion, what have you found to work best, most often?

Fibrous scar is the way most tissues in the body heals. It doesn't go away. Adhesions may require surgical release or manipulation.

And that is precisely why a responsible answer to your question cannot be offered without an examination and review of your individual situation.
