Pain in left Foot

Hi there. I have what I'm told is a pinched nerve in my left foot. After standing on it or walking it begins to numb up and then feels like a big block. Then it radiates pain and shoots pain up my left leg. I've been to a foot Doc many times and spent endless amounts of money with no relief. I've gotten 3 shots in the foot and they don't seen to help (but hurt like hell).
I should state that I'm an avid walker and used to walk 3 miles every morning. Now I sometimes can't make it across the room. I'm VERY depressed as walking was my life and release of stress and physical activity. Now I'm gaining weight and fell like crap.
    1. Is it a pinched nerve?
    2. What other treatments are there?
    3. Can I ever do my walking again?

    Or any other suggetions?
