Several weeks ago I underwent surgery (toenail avulsion?) to remove a small portion of my toenail along the side of my toe. This was because of an ingrown toenail due to trauma. It became very painful, I went back in a week later and they had to scrape out the toe again because there was skin covering that wouldn't allow it to drain. It was not infected. After the scraping, it started to get better. Almost one week ago, the base and corner of my toe became red. I called on Tuesday and they were not able to see me until next week, so instead prescribed Keflex. I have been taking Keflex for almost 4 days and have not seen any improvement. I'm in quite a bit of pain, and even the ball of my foot is achey. I can't get into my dr. until next week. Any suggestions on what I can do? Hoping this is not a MRSA infection.
