While sitting and watching tv my big toe suddenly started tingling very much like pins and needles only stronger. Then I experienced sharp shooting pain in my toe. This went on for a few minutes and when I stood up to walk, I had a hard time because my toe was swollen on the underside, looked like something was protruding from my toe. It turned red and hot. The pain subsided to a dull ache but I cannot put pressure on it. What can this be?
