    Hi

I have a lump on the base of my 5 metatarsal. I have had it for 2mths now and has gradually gotten worse to the point that by 2pm at work I am limping quite badly. I had an ultrasound which showed something which I think is unrelated to where I am having pain. Ultrasound says "well defined accessory ossicle suggesting an uninvited a ununited fragment at the neck of the talus...there is also thickening of the extensor hallucis brevis muscle". MRI report states "accessory ossicle and spur of the anteromedial talus". All of this is the other side of my foot. My pain like I said is on the right. It feels like someone is sticking a knife in me as it comes in waves. It's not sore when I wake up but as soon as I walk on it the pain starts an I increases. I have been to my gp would has not been able to enlighten the situation. I am waiting to see an ortho but the pain is getting worse. Wondering if you can shed ANY LIGHT please? Thanks

I can empathize with your situation. I am almost 5 months after my initial injury. After four long months I finally found a quality doctor who knew how to treat my injury. It's a frustrating and slow process, but nobody that you talk to online will know what is going on with your foot. They especially will not know how to treat it. You MUST find a good doctor. If your not happy with the doctor you have, get referred to another doctor. If an injury is out of a doctors league they would rather send you to a specialist that knows more about how to treat your injury.
You have a complicated injury. There are many tendons, ligaments and bones in the foot. I'm sorry I couldn't of been more help.
Although I will say because I do not like taking narcotic pain medicine the thing that has helped the most for pain and swelling, for me, is my "Air Cast Cryo/Cuff". It's an mechanical ice cooler that circulates cold water through a velcro boot. Ahhhh!!!
