In the beginning of November I fell from a standing position when I missed a step going into my garage. The following day I was diagonsed with an avulsion fracture of my right ankle. I was put in a temporary cast and given crutches until I could go in and see a specialist. Two days later the specialist confirmed the avulsion fracture and gave me a walking cast, advising me to use the walking cast for 3-4 weeks, then a brace for 3-4 weeks. I wore both for the 4 week period.

Starting with the walking cast I began experiencing pain on the inside of my foot near the arch and the small bone that "kind of" sticks out on the inside. The pain was minimal and I blamed it on the tendon pulls, etc, that occurred during the fall. It went away for the most part, but in the past three days it has gotten worse.

I have made sure to wear shoes with good support, especially when I know I am going to be walking alot, yet that has not helped in the least. It is a sharp pain, almost constant now, and gets worse when walking.

I suffer from Sjogren's Syndrome that does effect my joints, but take plaquenil to control the pain.

Is this possibly something related to the arthritis pain I experience from the Sjogren's or should I make an appointment to go and see the specialist again?
