    Hello all!
Quick question.... Would right and left saddle bone deformities, an osteocondroma on my knee, and a tarus in my mouth ( all bone growths) in any way be connected? I am in process of being tested for r.a. I have a pos ra factor and an Ana of over 5600...... Ugh.
Thanks for any help you can offer!

RA and ANA determinations are tests for rheumatoid or auto-immune conditions. A saddle bone deformity is either an exostosis or bony deformity, and not a rheumatoid condition. I think you mean torus (palatinus), a bony lesion of the mouth which I know nothing about. Although the bump in saddle bone deformity might involve both bone and cartilage, in my view it would not technically be an osteochondroma. An osteochondroma is a bony outgrowth capped with cartilage. In any event, I would not think that the conditions you mentioned have any predisposing connection with saddle bone deformity.

    Thank you!
I know it seems moronic to connect the three which are as far away from eachother as possible.... It's just the for all three bone related isssues to show up in someone 29 with ra I thought there might be a connecton. And so you would say the the saddle deformities, although on joints, are not by themselves related to ra?
    Thanks again!

Rheumatoid arthritis is a specific type of arthridity which is inflammatory and thought to be of auto-immune etiology. There ARE bone deformities commonly associated with it, but not of the type normally associated with what is generally termed saddle bone deformity.
