in the beginning of May a small callus formed on the upper right side of my second toe (on my right foot) after a half marathon. I've done a bunch of running races but, that day my stride must have been different than usual. It didn't phase me at first, but now it's july and it has grown b/c it is rubbing b/n my second and middle toe. It's now starting to cause blisters or calluses on the side of my middle toe.

Recently the calluses has started to hurt a bit. I've started tapping the second toe to the first toe to try to stop it from rubbing against the middle toe, but the callus doesn't seem to be healing.

Any advise on how to treat it?

    many thanks.

If it is really a callus, caused by simple friction between the two toes, the use of mole skin to cover it or a foam spacer between the toes should help the problem. If it is a soft corn, due to compression of opposing bony segments on adjacent toes, the foam spacer should still help if sufficiently thick, but surgery to remove one of the offending bony portions might be necessary for permanent relief.

Thanks! i think you got it right with the mole skin. Over the weekend i started placing mole skin on the middle toe that was rubbing against the callus on the second toe. it's already started to get smaller.
