My son has had a lump on the bottom of each foot since, well, we noticed it when he was a couple of months old. His previous pediatrician said we'll "keep an eye on them" and never said anything about it again. They are just small lump on the bottom of his feet, at the end of his arch, near his heel. He doesn't seem to have any pain there. We just had a visit to his new doctor (a family doctor, not a pediatrician) and he didn't check his feet, and I forgot to bring It up. Should I try to make an appointment to discuss it, or should I just wait until his next check up? Thanks in advance, for any advice.

If your pediatrician doesn't seem to know what they are, I think it unlikely that a GP would have any better of a clue. Certainly, no one having not seen the lumps can offer you the advice you request. I would think that any meaningful advice would have to be predicated on an examination. Why don't you take the child to a podiatrist to determine if it is anything worthy of concern?

4/23/12 My friend recently noticed bilateral soft fatty bumps on the bottom of her 5 month old's feet. They don't seem to cause discomfort. One has slightly decreased in size and developed a 2-3 cm. circular brown discoloration resembling a mole. She just took the baby to a pediatrician today who said they'd keep an eye on it, but did nothing.
On a side note- the brilliant nurse working there noticed a small bleeding cut on the baby's finger and put a band-aid on it. A few minutes later the baby turned blue and was choking. There were 4 nurses working on the baby before one of them put a forceps of some sort down the infant's throat and took the band-aid out. The mother nearly passed out! Nice, huh?

My baby also has this. She's had these since she was born. Saw a specialist yesterday and he has never saw babies feet like hers. Has anyone found out what they are?? Our next step is MRI if we choose.

    Hello,

My baby aslo has these bumps. I noticed them in the hospital at birth but didnt think anything of them. He is now 2 months old and they are still present. When I touch them he pulls his feet away so I am unsure if they hurt him or not. His pediatrician said she has never seen anything like it. She took a picture to show the poditrist next to her office and she said at his 4 month old check up she will take us over there so he can look at them, I will let you know if I find out anything.

Did anyone figure out what these limos are? My daughter also has them. They do not seem to bother her.
