Possible infection after six days after ingrown toenail surgery

Went six days ago for an ingrown toenail which I partially removed as I have for more than ten years easily. This time is hurt much after my home removal. I had it professionally removed partial and told it would never grow back. Six days later my toe is still oozing and dark red on one side. Saw a second podiatrist today since mine told me to go to the er instead of back to him. He gave me antibiotics Keflex. I also can't afford not to work but I am diabetic and afraid of losing my toe.
