5th Metatarsal Fracture

    I had a 5th metatarsal fracture on 6/11/09. The doc had me in an ankle brace and walking boot up until this week when I moved to another state and saw a new doctor. This new doctor told me that she wanted me out of the ankle brace and wrapped it in an ace bandage and to continue with the walking boot.

    Wow, the pain has tripled since having it wrapped in the ace bandage. I can't even walk on it anymore without the walking boot. What is happening to cause this much of a change?

    You say nothing about the location of the fracture on the metatarsal, what the initial x-rays and followup x-rays showed and how the bony union process went or is going. But why not bring up this complaint to your new doctor instead of to those who know nothing about the features of your condition?
