Unhappy Bent feet

Hi, I'm a little concerned for my 17month old son, he has been walking for around 2months now and I have noticed that both his feet bend inwards. It looks like his ankles are almost touching the floor when walking, and he has also over the past couple of weeks been falling over quite alot. They don't seem to be painful but it certainly looks abnormal and uncomfortable, please has anyone got advice i'm going out of my mind and cannot get in to see our GP until wednesday. Thank you

I would not choose to necessarily take as accurate the characterization of findings by a parent, who in separates sentences in her post both states that she is "a little concerned," and later, that she is "going out of [her] mind," so, it is difficult, if not impossible, to offer a meaningful response as to either the necessity for treatment, the type of treatment which might be required or the prognosis. But taking the child to a GP would, in my view and experience, not be the most productive of choices, as few if any GP's have the slightest expertise in foot problems, much less in the growing foot. I would advise, instead, that your child be evaluated by either a podiatrist who has a special interest in treating the feet of young children or an orthopedic specialist with similar practice interests and expertise. In any event, there is nothing that will likely occur in the next 2 days that is going to change the situation, and the only thing that you might achieved in a response to your post is either unfounded hope or despair.
