Arch pain goes away with cheap flat shoes
Hi all i'm writing this in the hopes that i could find some solace to my dilemma.
Background: for work i usually wear really simple fashion trainers. They usually have no special shock absorbing soles, usually thin sole and without any contour forming at all. The good part about them is that i can wear them to work but with a lot of walking i will get a painful heel but thats ok with me as it does not cause me too much distress.
Last year i tried to get 'better' shoes for longer walking and travelling and found a pair of Timberlands with all the contours and fancy absorbtion materials. At the store they felt like a million dollars. After a week of walking in them, my arches hurt so bad that i was limping. ( i believe i have visually normal arches). I tried all kinds of different inserts but to no avail, everytime i got the shoe on in the morning, by afternoon, my right leg would be weak with pain. Particularly when standing.
In frustration i had to give away those rather expensive pair of shoes and bought a pair of cheap trainers with absolutely flat soles with about a cm of cusioning (something like Adidas ROMS or similar) the debilitating pain went away immediately and i could walk normally for the whole day... i did have some heel pain at the end of the day but i have found this to be manageable and appropriate for the time i spend walking.
Its now a year later and i really want a pair of hiking/walking shoes that would not have heel pains and that i can walk for hours with. So i recently bought a pair of ACIS Nebraska and it felt ok in the store (the insole was somewhat contoured but not as high as the Prior Timberlands). about 2 hours into the new shoe that familiar feeling came back again.
pain in the arches... muscular aches in my calves. Most to all of the discomfort for this pair is while i'm standing... like at the check out counter of a mall. then i get this tingling paint that shoots up my arches.
I live in Singapore.. its tropical but admittedly i'm not in the sun much.. mostly airconditioned spaces... so my temp could range from 20c to 35c with Relative Humidity of 98% or something close to that...
well i guess if i have a question its this.. am i doomed to just wearing flat fashion shoes forever? (they are not very good in the mud)
are there things i can do to ..... do something about my situation? Anyone have similar fussy cheap shoe feet?
Thanks
