Default arch pain and lumps

I have had arch pain and a lump in the arch of my right foot. Foot specialist said he could do surgery but recommended to live with it. Now I have the same thing in my left foot only the lump is larger. Do not remember what the doctor called what I have, but I don't think it was plantar fasciitis. Anyone have the answer on what it is called and do you recommend that I have surgery. It is getting difficult to walk and uncomfortable and annoying when I am not on my feet.

You are probably talking about a Dupuytren's nodule (plantar fibromatosis), and I, too, rarely recommend surgery, as the failure rate is uncomfortably high, and it can even result in a worse problem. That's not to say that it is never appropriate and successful, but one has to weight the risks in doing it as opposed to living with what one has. I generally recommend trying accommodation and palliation first.
