Talking Nerve tingling on top of foot.

I have nerve tingling on the top of my right foot from the ankle to the big toe. It usually occurs when my foot is in an exaggerated position, but also when I bump the skin surface slightly around the arch/ankle area. It started last week when I got into my car to drine and my foot caught the rubber mat on the floor. I am 49 year old male with active sports background mostly running and biking. Any idea what this may be a symptom of?

It would sound likely that you stretched or irritated a nerve in the incident, if, in fact it is related. Resolution of nerve injuries are unpredictable, but most minor ones will spontaneously resolve on their own if there is no ongoing exacerbating cause. It is always a good idea, though, to have it check out as early as possible, as some situations are time sensitive in regard to the instituting of corrective measures if needed.
