Hello there, I have been experiencing quite severe pain in my left foot. It is in the centre/top of the foot. It is getting worse in the mornings or if I have been off my feet for a while, Then when I put full weight on it it sometimes brings me to my knees. Any Ideas what may be happening??
I feel for you friend. You are probably looking for advice so this reply will disappoint, but I also have pain in the middle top of my left foot..very sharp and only when I put weight on it, though the pain seems to last a while even after sitting down right away. There is no obvious source of the pain for me (no cut, bruise).
Did you hurt yourself in any way, even something that may have seemed minor or unrelated like twisting your ankle or missing a step? Do you see any swelling or redness?
Have you been to see a Doctor? If not you probably should (nag nag).
I will be interested to hear if you find the cause and some relief from your pain.
I also have pain in the middle of my left foot. I have an appointment to see my podiatrist next Tuesday. I have a high pain tolerance and have put off going to the doctor for about 3 months now. My foot hurts most when I have weight on it and then twist. It’s very strange and unlike any foot issue I’ve had before. I’m worried it could be a stress fracture.
I have discovered that being barefoot, in flip flops or wearing my Five Finger shoes eases the pain. When I put on my fancy athletic shoes (even with my prescription orthotics) me feet hurt more. I have lots of foot problems and have become a big fan of the Five Finger Shoes. I’m an Exercise Science major and recommend them to ALL my clients at the gym. You guys have got to check them out. They are awesome.
Just saw your msg - you prob have solved it by now but I had the same issue and it turned out that my foot arches needed better support, so a simple insert available in most supermarkets did the trick, no more pain at the top of my foot....hope this helps
This sounds like pain that I have. It's in both feet though, and sometimes in different locations (top of the foot, outside of the foot, achilies (sp?)). I wear custom orthotics (for about 8 years) and they seem to help a little. I'm only 33, used to run a lot, although now Dr. says no more running . I have high arches, and have been diagnosed with mild ostearthritis and tendonitis in both feet. Thing is several Dr's have looked at my feet and all say the arthy and tendo don't seem very severe. So why can't I run? I feel like I'm getting miss-diagnosed, but I've been to 3 podiatrists and a sports medicine specialist. Any ideas?
Hello there Rocker8z~ My name it Twitty Mc'limpwit and I am experiencing a similar problem. It could easily be tendonitis! the overuse and inflammation of a tendon in your foot! It usually occurs in the middle top of the foot, and is very painful when you roll through the front of your foot- I think, at least I hope that's it. I was going to ask about the same thing, except I have the issue between my 3rd and fourth toe -> which would normally bring someone to the conclusion of Morton's Neuroma, although my symptoms don't match- it came on relatively suddenly, the pain has very much faded after about a month, and there is inflammation almost to the point where I worry there may be a small tumor hidden in there... I would love for you to respond! ~Twitty.
Severe pain from the top of my left big toe to my ankle
Hi, I twisted my left foot and fell down the stairs this morning.I felt a lot of pain on the top of my left big toe all the way to my ankle. I applied ice and rested my foot on a pillow. The pain easied up a bit, no swelling occured but when i try to put my weight on it, the pain is unbearable. I know its not broken. What can I do to speed up the healing proccess and can I rub it with an ointment?
The fastest way to heal is to stay off of it. Keep it elevated, and keep ice on it for twenty minutes every couple of hours. Also, there are ace bandages and ankle support wraps you can purchase pretty cheap and these will help a lot for when you *do* have to walk on it. Also, take IBUPROFEN, which will help with the pain AND inflamation. Hope you're feeling better soon!
I'm also having severe pain at the top of my left foot, right smack in the middle. Woke up 3 days ago in severe pain and could barely put any weight on it or walk. I did nothing out of the ordinary, didn't exercise, didn't stub my toe, kick a ball around, nothing, so I'm quite puzzled as to what the heck is going on. I put ice on it, that helped some, and am taking Ibuprofen but it seems to be getting worse each day and I'm staying off my feet. My arches look fine, they haven't collapsed or anything, and there is no pain anywhere near my arches. Could it be gout? I rarely drink alcohol so I don't know how it could be gout.
I have had the same problem. I never thought about a heel spur. But turns out when they took my x rays. That was my problem. I was misinformed and thought a heel spur would cause the bottom of my feet to hurt.
