Default Lisfranc Injury Surgeon Suggestions

Hi all,

I am located in Alaska and last June injured my foot. As it turns out, the MRI showed this to be the last straw in a Lisfranc injury, possibly with or without a fracture. The radiologist who read the study highly suggested I find a surgeon that has seen/dealt with this type of injury on a regular basis.

The help I need is in locating such a doctor. I can look up doctor's on the internet (with certifications in both orthopaedics and sports medicine), until I'm blue in the face, but how do I know whom is experienced in this area and not? Any help would be appreciated no matter where the doctor is located. My preference would be for an AZ doctor (to keep it in network) but thats not essential as I will probably be doing rehab both in AK and WI. Thanks again for any help provided!

If there are any respected teaching or orthopedic specialty hospitals in your area, I would contact the chiefs of orthopedics and/or podiatry for his/her recommendation of someone geographically acceptable to you. You might also write to some of the more prestigious hospitals in the country for similar recommendations.
