Gout and cellulitus

I have been to several Drs -ie A GP,Infectious Disease.Orthopedic and Dermatologist to try to determine why I had four apparent cellulitus episodes in six months.All starts on my right foot on the outside of my big toe in the same spot. I was hospitalized for the first episode, a blood test showed a white count of 20,000.After two days of intravenous anti biotic is started to get better.The following three times were treated orally without any blood test.Although I have no symptoms at this time The orthopod ordered a blood test for my white count ,which was normal, and uric acid which was high at 8.5.He suspects there is relationship between the gout and cellulitus.He suggests that if I get another attack ,I should get a blood test for uric acid and white blood count to find out whats going on.But my ID Dr. wants me to take a anti biotic for a week once a month ,each month ,to prevent an attack.
I don't know what to do.Any suggestions ????

Very simple.
If it is a Gout attack Colchicine will calm it down. Colchicine is also diagnostic it only works on Gout. You may have to take enough to get diarrhea. If it doesn't work then it is not a Gout attack. Uric acid levels do not always equate with Gout attacks.

If it is an infection cultures and examination of causes must be made.

In the future uric acid must be diminished with gout medicine ie allopurinol or other types.
