Default sudden heat in toes

I have just started to experience sudden 'flashes' of heat in the toes of my left foot - doesn't last longer than a few seconds but is quite frequent. There is no associated pain -though I do have a very painful knee!- and no redness/itchyness or dryness. Otherwise healthy 48 year old woman, living in the UK.

Unless there is either flushing or actual heat felt by touching the toes when the problem occurs, it is more than likely a neuropathic problem which will likely be difficult if not impossible to diagnosis unless it can be associate with a specific activity, position or other ailment.

Hi. I actually have a similar issue. I have a surge of warmth on the inside arch of my left foot that comes on and off throughout the day.(however, my foot isn't actually warmer to the touch, I just sense that it's warmer.) It's been like this for a couple days now. It was kind of nice when it started because who doesn't like to have their feet warmed? But now it's actually annoying me because I don't know why it's doing this constantly. I have been on my left foot a little more these days because I tore my RIGHT ACL in my knee back in march, but I haven't had this problem before. + if anything, I've been putting less pressure on my left foot since my right knee has been getting better. I'm 19, male, and live in western Canada.

The feeling that a body part is of abnormal temperature when actual assessing of the temperature does not confirm this abnormality would have to be classified as a neuropathy.

Alright, thanks. How is this problem assessed by a physician?

I think he was probably talking about a neurology specialist.

The same thing has been happening to me for the last week and half or so, same spot and everything. Quite strange...however I have not had any injuries or using my left foot more, however I am 7 weeks pregnant? It didnt happen before then so I was just going to mention it to my doctor.

It was comforting reading this as i am 7weeks preganant too and i researched this because i too have been experiencing this sudden surge of heat in my inside leg. NO pAIN is attached to it at all. Just a sudden and ofetn lasting 3seconds or so surge of heat. Nice to know im not the only one. I have tested for HIV as someone mentioned below but that is silly to have one symtom and relate it to Hiv anyway.
