Re: Cancer
Certainly, that is not a question which can be answered "yes" or "no" of the basis of what you have offered. As when any patient has a serious illnesses outside of the scope of practice of the doctor being consulted for another issue, it is incumbent upon that doctor to either consult the other medical practitioner attending that patient or send the patient to an appropriate doctor for an evaluation to determine whether the treatment to be rendered will adversely impact that serious illness. Having no knowledge of the specifics of your cancer, its course and prognosis and its potential to either be exacerbated by a surgical procedure or adversely affect your healing process, your question cannot otherwise be responsibly answered here. Assuming you are currently under care, consult your oncologist in junction with the surgeon you have chosen.
