jones fracture

    I twisted my foot on Sept 5 and was told I broke my 5th metatarsal -ie Jones fracture. My foot dr has had me in a soft cast. Each week I return, they unwrap it, have had an x-ray and it is rewrapped (soft boot)-no weight bearing and says it is healing. I have my son's wedding this weekend (Oct1) and was told I can put some weight on it - it is okay if I put weight on my heal,it still hurts if I put weight on the whole foot and it is still swollen. Is this the right procedure - I love my foot doctor - he is a surgeon.
