Hello, my Dad has Erythromelalgia and I was wondering if any advice can be given to help him deal with the pain, etc...

He frequently wakes during the night because of the pain and so far he has been mainly dunking his feet in a bucket of cold water. He has also tried neosporin.

If anyone can offer ANY advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

First piece of advice- stop dunking/soaking. This causes skin damage potentially resulting in ulcers, etc.

Visit The Erythromelalgia Association at http://www.erythromelalgia.org - join if you wish.

There is a Yahoo group called EM dedicated to this disorder. Join. You will find it populated by people who are helpful and knowledgeable. But be aware, treatment is difficult.
