I had been suffering from toe nail fungus - probably contracted in a swimming pool to my otherwise healthy feet - for quite a while, so was getting kind of desperate. Somewhere I found the tip to try dipping the toes into bleach. At first I was sceptical, but then I remembered that I had made the experience that after swimming in the pool, the symptoms improved (for some time).

So the common denominator seemed to be chlorine, and I gave bleach a try, during several days. It actually seemed to work, but now the nails of my big toes are kind of pink-purple. Also the other ones had such a tint, but there it disappeared. It's been like that for several days now. If there is a change noticeable, I would say it's rather getting 'worse'.

Will this heal (grow out) by itself?

Using bleach on toenail fungus can be risky and may cause chemical burns or nail discoloration, as you're experiencing. The pink-purple tint could be a sign of irritation or damage to the nail bed. While mild discoloration may grow out over time, it’s best to stop the bleach use and consult a podiatrist or dermatologist. They can assess the damage and suggest safer, more effective antifungal treatments.
