I am scheduled to have my screws removed 5 years post LisFranc surgery. After the original surgery, I was under the impression that my foot was in such bad shape they (the screws) would never come out. Regardless of my remarkable recovery, my age and my previous injuries and arthritis would never allow me (according to my MD.) to get the pins removed.

I stumbled across this forum after searching for what appears to be a common problem.

I haven't been working out for the last 10 years - instead I've been working a full time job, 55 hours a week that requires me to be standing the entire time...I've developed what my trainer calls some very flat feet.

I'm hoping to find some ways to alleviate the pain and slowly rebuild the strength in the arches of my feet.

I'm Brian. I suffered from plantar fasciitis many years ago. It was hell on earth, but I managed to cure it by losing weight, getting better foot support and by generally taking my foot health a lot more seriously.

When I was younger, I used to do a lot of running. Then I started taking a liking to hiking. Both these activities are greatly enjoyable to me, but they're also very good at giving you a very nasty case of the plantar if you're not careful. And it happened to me!
