5th metatarsal fracture - night symptoms

hi! I've broke my 5th metatarsal 2,5 weeks ago, images from the injury day are attached to this post. I've seen the podiatrist same day and she prescribed me a walking boot and a follow-up visit in 4 weeks for the X-ray and evaluation. she said I should take the boot off at night and I can walk for a while based on a pain level. she also said that the injury is pretty much in a good shape and it will take 6-8 weeks to heal, and that limited blood supply in this area might delay healing.

so since that time I was not walking at all or doing any kind of weight bearing on this leg, but I do take off the boot at night. I did not have much swelling or bruising after the injury and now my foot looks normal. during the day if I do not move my leg abruptly, I feel no pain of discomfort. but I have discomfort sleeping without boot. if my foot is not in 90 degrees position I start feeling kind of weird pressure at the sole side and mild aches in the fracture area. so I put a pillow under the leg and try to sleep in a very limited number of positions.

I'm very concerned if my foot is healing properly and I've made an appointment in 4 days to see the doctor and do an X-ray. I'm generally concerned if the boot was prescribed correctly, maybe doctor should have put me in non-removeable cast initially instead. I've googled already and it looks like I have a Jones fracture and in this case a cast and a non-weight bearing is normally prescribed for around 6 weeks.

can someone give me an independent opinion on my injury and the treatment plan?
