I have a horizontal bright red line across my left great toe. I had not stubbed or injured my toe prior to noticing the line across the base of my toenail approximately 3 months ago. I am also relatively confident in saying I don’t feel like it was caused by ill fitting shoes as I am very conscientious of my footwear after having an issue with my right foot a couple of years ago. It has steadily moved up my nail bed as my nail has grown out. I have not experienced any tenderness or discomfort, the line has not changed in width, has no indention or separation on my nail bed and it has remained red in color. I more curious than concerned about what it might be?

I have the horizontal red line going across both of my toes the big one! I took a picture if you need it. Mine does feel sore.
