persistent pain after corn removal

    I'm a woman in my 60's and ever since a corn on the side-of-and-underneath my big toe was removed by a podiatrist 5 weeks ago, I've had severe and persistent pain at the site, upon pressure being applied.

    Are there any ideas about what's going on with this, what the cause of the pain is, and how to relieve it long-term and heal, so that I can walk again without pain?
